Software developer, UK

I build tools that take care of the boring work.

Currently building Umbra

Fig. 1 — sphere, 1-bitdrag to rotate
  1. 01 Umbra A desktop browser where every tab is its own sealed browser — its own cookies, its own exit IP, its own consistent device. Desktop · Electron, Go · In beta Open project Umbra
  2. 02 Vestra Your entire net worth in one considered view, priced live and added up honestly — deposits never counted as gains. Web app · NestJS, React · In development Open project Vestra
  3. 03 Dial Photograph a watch and see what the cheap end of the market is really asking, with the suspiciously cheap listings thrown out first. Mobile · Expo, Node · Prototype Open project Dial
  4. 04 Tessera A Chrome extension that reads every listing on a StubHub event at once and shows the low, typical and high price for each zone and section. Chrome extension · JavaScript · Working build Open project Tessera

I'm Marcus: thirty, born and raised in the UK, and a father. By day I build software — browser tooling, data-heavy apps, and small, sharp utilities that quietly save people money.

Off the clock it's LEGO, and Old School RuneScape, which remains the best teacher of long-term incremental progress I know. This site is written by hand: HTML, CSS and plain JavaScript, no frameworks, no build step.
